چکیده

Linear Matrix Inequalities (LMIs) are now widely used as a convenient tool for solving a signiicant number of control problems. Probably for historical reasons, LMIs have mainly been used conjointly with state-space methods. Several recent works however tend to prove that polynomial (or algebraic) methods can also rely on LMIs. With the help of simple illustrative examples, the purpose of this paper is to show how the simultaneous use of LMIs and polynomial methods can shed new insights into several important control problems. The algorithms described in this paper will be part of the next version of the Polynomial Toolbox for Matlab, to be released soon 5 .

Lmis for Robust Stabilization of Systems with Ellipsoidal Uncertainty

A recently developed ellipsoidal inner approximation of the stability domain in the space of polynomial coeecients is used to show that the problem of robust stabilization of a scalar plant aaected by ellipsoidal parametric uncertainty boils down to a mere convex LMI problem. An illustrative numerical example is given.

Lmis for Linear Systems Control by Polynomial Methods

Linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) prove to be a useful tool for solving several analysis and design problems in linear systems control. However, LMI techniques have mainly been used conjointly with state-space methods. The aim of this paper is to survey several recent achievements that tend to prove that LMI feasibility and optimization problems also arise when dealing with control problems for...

Polynomially Parameter-dependent Lyapunov Functions for Robust H∞ Performance Analysis

The computation of robust H∞ performance of linear systems subject to polytopic parametric uncertainty is known to be a difficult problem in robust control. In this paper, quadratic parameter-dependent Lyapunov functions, with polynomial dependence on the uncertain parameters, are exploited to provide upper bounds to the robust H∞ performance. It is shown that such bounds can be computed via co...

Observer-Based Stabilization of T-S Fuzzy Systems With Input Delay

This paper discusses the stabilization of Takagi–Sugeno (T–S) fuzzy systems with bounded and time-varying input delay. The robust stabilization via state feedback is first addressed, and delay-dependent stabilization conditions are proposed in terms of LMIs. Observer-based feedback stabilization is also discussed for T–S fuzzy input delay systems without uncertainties. A separate design princip...

Numerical solution of delay differential equations via operational matrices of hybrid of block-pulse functions and Bernstein polynomials

In this paper, we introduce hybrid of block-pulse functions and Bernstein polynomials and derive operational matrices of integration, dual, differentiation, product and delay of these hybrid functions by a general procedure that can be used for other polynomials or orthogonal functions. Then, we utilize them to solve delay differential equations and time-delay system. The method is based upon e...
